Please know that our Lord along with YOU made this possible and successful today, and even though I have thanked some of you both in person or by text, I likewise wanted to thank you as a group as well.
Our next date for Para-Pups will be October 13th at Pinebrook Park, where will will have a team battle of capture the flag (Team Krause v. Team Dolby…kids, start picking your side:-). Blessings to all,
We are just about a week out from our September Para-Pups event, the ALL AMERICAN ROAD MARCH, and if I could take a moment of your time, I would like to explain why we decided to go this route. The reason we will be doing this event, which we hope becomes annual, is due to the amazing sacrifice that many have made to secure our freedoms. In putting on Para-Pups each month, we are attempting to honor Christ in the development of each and every child; hence, we teach everything from the Christian worldview. But, we are also attempting to develop and create good citizens that both serve and wish to give back to our wonderful country. God has placed us in a unique position in our country where we enjoy freedoms that have never been enjoyed anywhere or at anytime in the history of the world, and this country is worth serving, despite her many flaws.
Having served in the Global War on Terror for a total of 14 months, from June 2007-Aug 2008, I was able to see firsthand the hardships that it takes to preserve our freedoms (and I had it good). David Dolby, our other instructor, likewise has multiple deployments and my wife, Lord bless her, likewise served, as she bore the burden for the 14 months that I was gone (with no credit and no one coming up to her these days telling her “thank you for your service”). Needless to say, with this in mind, I would like for us as a group to look past ourselves on Sept. 8th and to honor those who have been both lost and served our great country. Also, I likewise believe that this will be an amazing teaching moment for our children, as even at this young and tender age, they are able to give back to those who have sacrificed so very much.
But, it’s not all about work and serving for the kids, as they will likewise be served as well after the Road March, where they will have access to a 25 foot climbing wall for four hours beginning at 11AM, as well as games, food, fun, and fellowship with one another. With this in mind, we hope that you join us (and parents, please do the march as well), and I for one am extremely excited.
For more information, please visit www.parapups.org and please remember to RSVP (and have your children invite a friend). See you on the 8th and hope to hear from you sooner. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
UPDATE: The 8/11 Para-Pups has switched locations from Carlton Reserve to Pinebrook Park in Venice (1251 Pinebrook Way, Venice, FL 34285) – the reason for this switch is due to the closing of Carlton Reserve due to flooding. Our second choice was Jelks Preserve, the same location where we did our rope bridging a few months back, but, after walking it with my kids today, needless to say, we came home soaking wet. So, we will make to switch to Pinebrook park, where we can connect on our walk to the Curry Preserve which is located near by. Same times apply and for more information, please see the updated information on the website parapups, org . Blessings….
